The Index-Journal Celebrates 100 Bodacious Years!

In this cross section of the Index-Journal’s editorial page, you can see the special cartoon I created.

This week the Index-Journal newspaper in Greenwood, South Carolina celebrated its 100th Birthday!  I was honored to be contacted by Index-Journal Executive Editor Richard Whiting who invited me to contribute a special Barney Google and Snuffy Smith cartoon to run in the newspaper as part of their centennial celebration.  The Index-Journal runs our comic strip in their newspaper seven days a week and Whiting was aware of our comic strip’s upcoming 100th birthday on June 17, 2019.  Since we both turn 100 in the same year, he thought it would be fun to have a special cartoon mentioning that fact and I agreed.  Above you can see the cartoon I created.  It was so much fun to draw! Bodacious congratulations to the Index-Journal on reaching this amazing milestone and many, many thanks to Richard Whiting and the Index-Journal for allowing Barney Google, Snuffy Smith and I to be a small part of it!

Snuffy Smith Chalk Talk To Ruritans!

Club member, Mike Liskey, enjoys reading my book Snuffy Smith In His Sunday Best which he won in a prize drawing after my presentation.

This past week I was invited to give a Snuffy Smith Chalk Talk presentation to the West Rockingham Ruritan Club in western Rockingham County, Virginia. They are a great group of civic-minded individuals who do a lot for their community. Here are a few photos from that wonderful evening.  If you are interested in booking me to speak at a civic club meeting like this, please go to the Contact button on my website and send me an email.  We’ll have a fun time!
