Public Service Ad Campaign: Snuff Out Wildfires Before They Start

I’d like to share with you a special Snuffy Smith project that I have been working on this past winter that is very special to my heart. I live in Virginia, but since I was a child, my family has often vacationed in Eastern Tennessee, mostly in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. My wife and I have continued that tradition with our daughters. In addition to vacationing there, for the last four years, I have been a guest of the City Of Pigeon Forge for Wilderness Wildlife Week, giving Snuffy Smith Chalk Talks and Cartooning For Kids workshops each year during that week.

Snuffy’ Smith Is Headin’ To East Tennessee!

Barney Google and Snuffy Smith Cartoonist, John Rose, will be a guest once again at this year’s Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge, Rose will be in East Tennessee promoting his new Snuffy Smith book and presenting:
• Bodacious Cartooning For Kids Workshop (space is limited, requires preregistration), Friday, May 20, 1-2 p.m.

Thanks To Blue Ridge Country Magazine!!

Earlier this year, I blogged about appearing as a guest at the Wilderness Wildlife Festival in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It was a great time in a bee-yoo-ti-ful area that I love to visit! While there, I was approached by Marla Milling, a writer for Blue Ridge Country Magazine. We visited for awhile and she attended my Snuffy Smith Chalk Talk cartooning program. Afterwards she asked if she could interview me for the September/October edition of the magazine. I was very flattered and humbled by her request.  She is a very talented writer and wrote a really terrific story! If you’d like to check it out, click on the link below:
